International connections
A- A+ Aa
From the outset, the school has always sought to develop international partnerships.
Although partnerships were initially set up with American universities, the school has shifted its focus to European exchange programmes such as Socrates'and Leonardo' (formerly Erasmus' and Commett'), strengthening its connections with universities throughout the world (Eastern Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, Latin America, etc.).
International alliances
The Pays de la Loire Region has always strongly supported academic mobility within Western and Eastern Europe (TOPE programme), which has allowed for the establishment of various partnerships. Polytech Nantes currently receives engineering-students, Ph.D. students and faculty members from all over the world.
All our engineering students now complete a training placement abroad during the course of their studies. These placements are often crucial in finding employment after graduation. Results of a recent survey of trainees abroad show that these placements provide linguistic proficiency, and serve to enhance the engineer's adaptability and mobility. Students also have the option of studying at a partner university for a semester. An increasing number of graduates are also working abroad. As they maintain close ties to the school, they often draw on the current student body for trainees and engineers entering the workforce.
Languages
As a necessary pre-requisite for international exchanges, an in-depth knowledge of foreign languages is enhanced by various programmes. Not only does the school require every student to achieve a minimum score of 750 points (out of 990) on the TOEIC - Test of English for International Communication - but it also encourages the study of a second language: Chinese, German, Japanese and Spanish are all currently offered.
Participation in exchange programmes
Polytech Nantes is an active partner in a number of exchange programmes. You can enrol for a period of study ranging from 3 months to one year in one of the following exchange programmes: ERASMUS, EGIDE, CREPUQ, AUF.
Polytech Nantes has also signed many bilateral exchange agreements with universities all over the world. If you are interested in joining the school, please first contact your own university's international office for more information.
Obtaining a degree from Polytech Nantes
Every year, Polytech Nantes awards about twenty engineering degrees to foreign students.
The school strongly encourages international postgraduate students to apply. About 30% of the students enrolled in doctoral programmes come from abroad.
